Ash tree fungus
This is an emerging infectious disease and very little is known about the causative fungus (Hymenoscyphus pseudoalbidus). The symptoms of the disease were first observed in Poland in 1992 and since then it has gradually spread through Europe and is expected to affect the whole of Europe in the near future. The fungus was only isolated in 2006 and only identified as a new species (distinct from H. albidus) in 2010
